WSCC millage renewed, Oceana voters vote no

Updated, with all Manistee County precincts reporting. With most precincts throughout the district reporting in, including all 22 precincts in Mason County, West Shore Community College’s millage renewal request has been approved. Mason County voters approve WSCC millage renewal

LUDINGTON — Mason County voters overwhelmingly approved the renewal of West Shore Community College’s operating budget. The proposal, allowing the college to levy .7062 mill, received 1,712 yes votes vs. 560 no votes in 22 precincts. The millage is for eight years; it is expected to raise almost $2 million for the college in 2014.

MCE voters approve millage renewal

CUSTER — Mason County Eastern Public School voters approved a 19.2595 mill renewal for the next 20 years. The district is allowed to tax properties except principal residences and other property exempted by law. It is expected to raise approximately $1 million in revenue for the district in 2013.
