LUDINGTON — Ludington police officers cited one man and arrested another who were so intoxicated they couldn’t care for themselves, according to Ludington Police Chief Christopher Jones.
The first incident occurred Saturday, April 12, shortly after 5:30 p.m. in Copeyon Park.
A 42-year-old Ludington man “was found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself,” said the chief. “The subject was issued a citation for public intoxication, (and) then transported to Corewell Health ER for a medical evaluation without incident.”
The second incident occurred Sunday, April 13, around 11:30 a.m. in the 900 block of North Lavinia Street where police were responding to check on the welfare of an individual.
A 59-year-old Ludington man was “was found to be highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself,” said Chief Jones. “Due to the subject’s level of intoxication, the subject was transported to Corewell Health ER for a medical evaluation (and) then lodged in the Mason County Jail without incident.”

Saturday, April 12, 2025:
- 1:38 a.m., (MCSO), a 56-year-old Muskegon man was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated and driving while license revoked following a traffic stop, US 10 and Brye Road, Amber Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 1:05 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 52-year-old Shelby woman was arrested on a warrant, Emily Street, City of Ludington. Suspected methamphetamine was seized, and a charge of meth possession is pending. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 3:28 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 23-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on a Mason County warrant for a bond violation and retail fraud, Washington Avenue and Foster Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 3:40 a.m., (MCSO), a 30-year-old Manistee man was arrested after deputies spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen by the Manistee Police Department a few minutes earlier, US 10-31 southbound freeway, Amber Township. During the arrest, suspected fentanyl was recovered. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 1:25 p.m., (MCSO), a 31-year-old Scottville woman was arrested for domestic assault following a 911 call reporting an assault, 100 block of Ivan Street, Victory Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 6:28 p.m., (LPD), a 24-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on a Mason County warrant for retail fraud, 500 block of North Lavinia Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 11:03 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Branch Township.
Sunday, April 13, 2025:
- 2:21 a.m., (MCSO), a 45-year-old Ludington woman was arrested on a failure to appear warrant and a friend of the court warrant issued in Mason County, 4400 block of West Hansen Road, Amber Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 12:40 p.m., (MSP), reported property destruction to a trailer and shed, 1400 block of US 10-31, Amber Township.
- 2 p.m., (MSP), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Johnson and Amber roads, Amber Township. A vehicle swerved off the roadway to avoid another vehicle that ran a stop sign.
- 9:50 p.m., (MCSO), a 21-year-old Manistee man was arrested for a violation of his bond condition, US 31 and Countyline Road, Grant Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
