Edgar Allen “Al” Williams, 84,, of Ludington, formerly of Branch, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. Born on June 11, 1940, in Muskegon, he was a cherished son to the late Edgar and Katherine (VanZanten) Williams.

Edgar graduated from Muskegon Senior High School in 1958 and spent his career as a dedicated welder and boilermaker, a trade that showcased his skill and hard work. He married Vicki Wheeler on July 16, 1960, and together they raised a loving family.

Edgar is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Vicki; daughters, Katie (Dean) Calkins, Kathy (Lenny) Larson, Kim (Larry) Ingle, and Kristy (Russell) Eggert; grandchildren, Tom (Amanda) Myer, Tammy (Tony) Pollick, Liz Pullen, Chrissy Stone, Travis (Erika) Larson, Kaley (Kyle) Cogle, Nic (Kayla) Ingle, Landon (Jamie) Ingle, and Colin Ingle; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Roger (Wanda) Williams, Bob (Kathy) Williams, and Tom (Susie) Williams; sisters-in-law, Melodie Walker, Debbie (Warren) Hardman, and Linda Wheeler; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Roy and Marie Wheeler; brothers-in-law, David Wheeler and Roger Walker; and grandson, Bradon Allen Ingle.

A man of faith, Edgar was a long-time member of Crystal Valley United Methodist Church. His life was rich with hobbies including hunting, fishing, racing harness horses, music and dancing, and bird watching. He especially cherished attending his grandchildren’s events and, in retirement, took pride in his beautiful lawn, garden, and home at “The River.”

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. His memorial service will be Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Crystal Valley United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crystal Valley United Methodist Church in memory of Al Williams. His life and legacy will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
