SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP — A 34-year-old Fountain man accidentally shot himself in the foot Thursday, Dec. 26 while attempting to holster a pistol. Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole said emergency personnel were dispatched to the 6700 block of East Sherman Street near Tallman Lake. Cole said the man had been target practicing earlier in the day.
Other activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 26, 2024 included:
– 6 a.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Bradshaw Road east of Hogenson Road, Riverton Township.
– 3:37 p.m.: Car/deer crash, no injuries, Chauvez Road west of Brye Road, Pere Marquette Township.
– 5:18 p.m.: A 61-year-old Bear Lake woman received minor injuries following a car/deer crash on US 31 north of Johnson Road, Amber Township.
– 9:19 p.m.: A 59-year-old Scottville man was arrested on a felony fraud warrant out of Muskegon County following a traffic stop on US 10-31 at Dennis Road, Amber Township. Additionally, the passenger, a 61-year-old Ludington woman, was arrested on a felony fraud warrant out of Muskegon County.
