SCOTTVILLE — JCI Ludington (the Ludington Area Jaycees) recently awarded $15,000 in grants to four local non-profit organizations during a ceremony at North Country Cafe. The funds were raised this year at the Jaycees’ Mini Golf at Stearns Park in Ludington.
Receiving grants were:
- Caritas Food Pantry, Custer, $1,000, to purchase reusable sturdy bags to contain/carry food items distributed to clients.
- Ludington Coats and Boots, Ludington, $5,000, to provide, free of charge, warm outwear to students in Mason County schools.
- Custer VFW Gold Bar Post 5096 Auxiliary, $5000, for renovation of the facility’s kitchen and handicap accessible bathrooms.
- The Village of Free Soil, $4000, for installing heating in the Free Soil Community Center gym for year-round use.
