Fake $100 bill passed at local store

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A counterfeit $100 bill was used by a female customer at the Wesco store on West US 10 Friday, Dec. 13 around 1 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The following is other police activity in Mason County over the weekend:

Friday, Dec. 13, 2024:

  • 4 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive north of Decker Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 5:12 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Free Soil Road east of Darr Road, Free Soil Township.
  • 4:15 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 north of Forest Trail Road, Free Soil Township.
  • 4:52 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of King (Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 5:58 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injury, US 10 east of Stiles Road, Amber Township.
  • 7:02 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Meisenheimer Road,, Riverton Township.
  • 7:22 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Reek Road north of Dewey Road, Sherman Township.
  • 10:15 p.m., (MCSO), a 49-year-old Pentwater woman was arrested on an outstanding aggravated assault warrant issued by the Michigan State Police, Hart post, following a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a residence, 7100 block of South Pere Marquette Highway, Summit Township. During that investigation, the warrant was discovered by deputies.

Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024:

  • 2:42 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.  
  • 7:20 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 69-year-old Ludington man was arrested for a probation violation, 1000 block of South Madison Street, City of Ludington.
  • 9:55 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle rollover crash, no injury, Chauvez Road west of Lister Road, Riverton Township.
  • 10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Major Road west of Darr Road, Eden Township.
  • 11:11 p.m., (MCSO), a 45-year-old Branch man was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting a disturbance, 7800 block of East Shoshone Trail, Branch Township.
