Obituary: Tamara Lynne O’Brien, 60, of Scottville

Tamara (Tammy) Lynne O’Brien, 60, of Scottville, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on November 30, 2024. She was born October 30, 1964, in Ludington, the daughter of Bruce Bedker and Nancy (Hewitt). Tammy attended Mason County Central Schools.

Tammy excelled in owning and operating Tammy’s Cleaning Service and working as a beloved caregiver. She wed Carl Luttrell on November 5, 1982, sharing their union until his passing on December 10, 1989. Tammy later married Patrick O’Brien II on August 26, 2000 on the homestead where they also raised their three children, Chris and Jamie Luttrell and Murphy O’Brien.

Tammy enjoyed raising chickens, spending time with her family, watching scary movies, the Detroit Tigers, and attending rock concerts. She spread immense joy in the community by painting and hiding rocks for #Ludington“Rocks” Facebook.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother Nancy Bedker; father Bruce Bedker; stepmother Jo Bedker; husband Carl Luttrell; father-in-law Patrick O’Brien I; mother-in-law Darlene (Davis) Luttrell,

Tammy is survived by her husband of 24 years, Patrick; their children, Christopher (Heather) Luttrell, Jamie Luttrell, Murphy O’Brien; granddaughters, Alexandra (Alex) and Rylie Luttrell; sister Neta (Aage) McDonald; stepbrothers, Fred and John Shearer; mother-in-law Sheryl O’Brien; sisters-in-law Kim Luttrell and Kelly Rainey, Shanna (Don) Nelson; brothers-in-law, Ryan (Sue) O’Brien; many beloved nieces and nephews; and great-nephew, Nico McDonald.

A memorial viewing in lieu of funeral services will be held on Thursday, December, 12, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. The family thanks Harbor Hospice for the care and support they’ve provided and encourages memorial donations to fund their work.
