Shirley Jean Butcher, 96, of Ludington, formerly of Montague, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Shirley was born on January 20, 1928, the daughter of the late Walter and Fanny (Smith) Gregersen. She was a graduate of Whitehall High School. On July 3, 1972, she married George Butcher. Together they shared over 50 memorable years together. For over 25 years, she worked at Meijer, retiring in 1988 as a bookkeeper. She loved gardening. She was also a self-proclaimed Chef, always preparing meals for her family.

Shirley is survived by her husband, George Butcher; eight children; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Mike Hanis; daughter, Christine Grayson; son, Thomas Hanis, Sr.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
