Obituary: Dean ‘Deno’ Moore, 72, of Irons

Dean “Deno” Michael Moore, 72, of Irons, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Munson Hospice House in Traverse City.  He was born December 8, 1951, in Detroit, the son of Harry and Valeria (Retchko) Moore.

Deno was a Vietnam veteran who served in the U.S. Army.

Deno worked at the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island for over five years.  He later worked in painting, construction and cottage maintenance in the Pentwater area for many years.  Deno also worked as a paralegal and notary public for several years.  In his spare time, Deno enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting and being a member of the Ludington Coin Club.

On July 14, 2001, Deno married Linda Bates, who survives him.  He is also survived by: his brothers and sisters, Debbie (Mark) Fitzgerald, Dick Moore, Dawn (Arthur) Bigsby and David (Tamara) Moore; and several nieces and nephews.

Deno was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
