LUDINGTON — A 19-year-old Manistee man faces four felony charges after allegedly threatening guests at a Pere Marquette Township hotel early Wednesday morning.
Jonald Wilson, Jr. was arraigned in Mason County’s 79th District Court on Wednesday and has formally been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault) and three counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Shortly after midnight on Nov. 20, Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Rodeway Inn, at 5095 W. US 10 for a report of a subject with a gun threatening to kill people, said Sheriff Kim Cole.
“Deputies and Ludington police officers arrived and located a male subject in the parking lot acting irrational, screaming and flailing about. The subject reportedly ran at a deputy while reaching into his waistband. “The suspect refused to show his hands when told to and was ‘tasered’ which had no effect. He then fought with deputies and LPD officers in the parking lot. During the struggle, a knife was recovered from his waistband. No gun was located.
“The investigation revealed the suspect had reportedly threatened guests at the hotel who had attempted to intervene in an argument he was having with a female companion.”
Bond was set at 10 percent of $10,000. A preliminary examination is scheduled for Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m.
