LUDINGTON — A 69-year-old man was sentenced to six months in jail in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Nov. 12, for a felony count of aggravated indecent exposure.

Daniel Lee Adams pleaded “no contest” to the charge Sept. 24, and one misdemeanor count of engaging in the services of prostitution was dismissed.

Adams jumped into the backseat of a woman’s car at the Scottville Wesco last July and “exposed himself while fondling his genitals,” said Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Beth Hand.

“I can’t imagine how frightened and terrified the victim was,” said Prosecutor Hand. “No member of our society should be subjected to that type of behavior.”

There were two separate female victims connected to each of Adams’ original charges, said Hand.

Judge Susan K. Sniegowski gave him credit for 120 days served in jail and also ordered three years probation and $398 in fines and costs.

In a separate file, Adams pleaded guilty Sept. 24 to assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and larceny less than $200 and was sentenced concurrently to six months in jail; three years probation; and $648 in fines and costs. He received credit for 139 days served in jail.

“One of the factors in these transgressions is that Mr. Adams happened to be highly intoxicated,” said his attorney Nancy Urban. He will go immediately into inpatient treatment when he’s released from jail, followed by counseling, said Urban.
