LUDINGTON — The annual Aglow on the Avenue Parade and Tree Lighting will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30 in downtown Ludington. The festivities coincide with Small Business Saturday, which is meant to encourage the community to “shop small” and support local businesses.
Downtown merchants will welcome holiday shoppers from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with open houses featuring special sales, refreshments, and a festive atmosphere. Nickelson Christmas Trees will also have a tree lot conveniently located in Legacy Plaza, offering holiday trees for sale throughout the day.
At 6 p.m., the Aglow on the Avenue Parade, hosted by the Chamber Alliance of Mason County and Downtown Ludington, will begin. The parade route runs east on Ludington Avenue from Gaylord Avenue to Harrison Street, showcasing illuminated floats, carolers, and other festive entries.
After the parade, the community is invited to gather at Legacy Plaza for caroling, the annual tree lighting, and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Ludington High School Band and Choir will also perform and accompany the carolers.
Parade entries are now being accepted, and community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to participate. Creativity is welcome whether it’s a float, a group of carolers, pets in holiday costumes, or a musical group! Keeping with the “aglow” theme, all participants are encouraged to light up their entries. There is no fee to participate in the parade.
To register, complete the online entry form at ludington.org.
