David C. Hullinger, 76, of Ludington, formerly of Eaton, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
David was born on June 7, 1948, in Muncie Ind., the son of Joseph C. Hullinger and Mary Olive Linton. He attended Eaton High School, graduating with the class of 1966.
On May 24, 1975, David married his former wife and lifelong friend, Marilyn Masten Hullinger. He served bravely in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war. In 1970, he was honorably discharged. He was employed by Harsco Rail of Ludington, where he retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
David is survived by his former wife, Marilyn Masten Hullinger; children, Jenifer (John) Merchant and Zachary (Maria) Hullinger; grandchildren, Quinn Merchant, George Hullinger, and Ava Hullinger; sister, Roberta (Willard) Sloan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his biological mother, Mary Olive Linton; parents, Joseph C. Hullinger and Mary Evelyn Hullinger; brothers, Ronnie Joe Hullinger and Phillip Neal Hullinger; sister, Phyllis Oliver (Hullinger); and his beloved coach, Robert “Bobby” Knight.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church of Ludington, 5810 E Bryant Rd. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. There will be Military Honors at 1:30 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
