Arlene Hackert

Arlene Hackert, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the age of 91 after a long battle with cancer.

Arlene was born on March 10, 1933, in Chicago to Arthur and Julia Schmuldt. She moved to Ludington in 1949 and graduated from Ludington High School.

She was preceded in death by her brother Eugene Schmuldt and her soulmate Myrton Hackert, Jr. who passed away on April of 2016.

Mert and Arlene were married on November 19, 1955, and spent 60 wonderful years by each other’s side living life to the fullest and enjoying each other’s company. They enjoyed many vacations to Las Vegas with friends and Arlene never found a bingo card or penny slot machine she didn’t enjoy. Arlene loved Detroit Tiger baseball and working in her flower gardens at their farm near Hackert Lake.

She is survived by her loving son, Alan (Janet) Hackert, who dedicatedly cared for her in her later years; and her grandchildren, Susan (Stuart) Toth and Bradley (Cassie) Hackert.

The family would like to thank the tremendous staff at Oakview Medical Facility for their dedicated care of Arlene during the final period of her life.

A private burial service for the immediate family will take place at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are being cared for by Wyman Funeral & Cremation Services.
