Recently-delivered recliner stolen from driveway

BRANCH TOWNSHIP — The larceny theft of a recliner chair was reported in the 7600 block of East Navajo Trail Friday,  Oct. 11, shortly after 12:40 p.m. 

“The complainant reported the theft of a recliner chair that had been delivered by Fed Ex and was stolen from the caller’s driveway a short time later,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Friday, Oct. 11, 2024:

  • 7 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive north of Chauvez Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 9:12 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 54-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing police, 100 block of East Foster Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 10:22 a.m., (LPD), a 38-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for domestic assault, 800 block of Anderson Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason Mason County Jail.
  • 5:43 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injury, 2800 block of East Decker Road, Sherman Township. Through the investigation, a warrant is being requested for a 19-year-old Fountain man after he allegedly struck another vehicle and fled the scene.
  • 10:42 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of the Ludington rest area, Summit Township.

Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024:

  • 2:28 a.m., (LPD), a 26-year-old Ludington man was arrested for a failure to appear warrant for a traffic offense issued by the 79th District Court, 200 block of East Ludington Avenue, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 10:45 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Fisher Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 8:36 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Hansen Road west of LaSalle Road, Amber Township.
  • 10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Hansen Road west of Dennis Road, Amber Township.
  • 10:17 p.m., (MCSO), a 51-year-old Branch man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant issued in Oceana County, 200 block of Gibson Road, Branch Township. 
  • 10:57 p.m., (MCSO), a 49 year-old Stockton, Michigan man was arrested for domestic assault following a 911 call reporting an assault, 2900 block of North Lincoln Road, Hamlin Township.

Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024:

  • 1:01 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle rear-end crash, Pere Marquette Highway and Iris Road, Pere Marquette Township. A 68-year-old Berrien Springs, Michigan woman and a 73-year-old Ludington woman both received non-life-threatening injuries. They were passengers in each vehicle.
  • 1:48 a.m., (MCSO), a 24-year-old Fountain man was arrested on two outstanding failure to appear warrants issued in Mason County following a traffic stop, Chauvez Road and Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 2:30 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Victory Drive, Victory Township.
  • 12:06 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle rear-end crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway and Iris Road, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 7:35 p.m., (LPD) a 43-year-old Ludington man was arrested for two outstanding warrants for resisting police issued in Mason County and contempt of court issued in Manistee County, 100 block of East Foster Street, City of Ludington. He lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Monday, Oct. 14, 2024:

  • 12:23 a.m., (LPD), a 44-year-old Grand Haven man was arrested for a traffic warrant issued by the 79th District Court, near George and Melendy streets, City of Ludington. The passenger, a 51-year-old Grand Haven man, was arrested for multiple warrants issued in Ottawa County. Both suspects were lodged at the Mason County Jail.
