SUMMIT TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Pentwater man was arrested on a charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police after Mason County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a person smashing a windshield out of vehicle Wednesday, Oct. 2, shortly before 7 p.m. in the 6300 block of Basswood Drive, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
“When approached, the suspect fled on foot and was captured after a short foot chase,” said the sheriff. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
The following is other police activity in Mason County Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024:
- 5:09 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Hansen Road west of Benson Road, Branch Township.
- 9:54 a.m., (MCSO), a 43-year-old Free Soil woman was arrested on felony charges of methamphetamine possession and carrying a concealed weapon following a traffic stop after suspected meth and two loaded handguns were discovered, Hansen and Stiles roads, Amber Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 5:49 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 31 north of US 10, Amber Township.
- 7:55 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 41-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for a probation violation, 400 block of South James Street, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 8:24 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Fountain Road, Hamlin Township.
- 8:50 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Scottville Road south of Wilson Road, Custer Township.
