Fall Firearms Festival is Saturday

SHERMAN TOWNSHIP — Michigan Coalition for Responsible Gun Owners will hold a Fall Firearms Festival Saturday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fin & Feather Club of Mason County, 3276 N. Darr Rd.

The festival is open to the public at no cost for admission.

The event will include both pistol and rifle shooting competitions with a $10 competitors’ fee to benefit the MCRGO Legal Foundation. Participants should bring their own firearms, ammunition, and ear and eye protection.

Food will be sold by the local R&T Colossal Kitchen food truck of Scottville.

Candidates for office are welcome at the event along with their campaign materials.

Fall Firearms Festival Schedule of Events:

11:30 a.m.: Pistol Marksmanship: 10 rounds, 10 yards, untimed, no lasers or optics, carry style pistols only

Noon: Ask an Attorney Forum

12:30 p.m.: .22 Rifle: 10 rounds, untimed, at 50 yards, iron sights only

1:30 p.m.: Legislative and Candidates Q&A

2:00 p.m.: Speed Pistol: 5 rounds, 10 yards, within 10 seconds, no lasers or optics, carry style pistols only

2:30 p.m.: Women’s Workshop – Everyday Carry

3:00 p.m.: AR Rifle (5.56 or .223): 10 rounds within 30 seconds, at 100 yards, optics allowed.

There is no need to register in advanced for any of these events. Participants in shooting competitions must be there at the start of the event for the briefing. It is recommended to arrive five minutes early. Minors are welcome to participate in shooting events with a parent or guardian physically present with them on the range.
