Octoberfest to return to downtown Ludington, Sept. 27, 28

September 13, 2024

LUDINGTON — The Downtown Ludington organization will again present Octoberfest Friday, Sept. 27 and Saturday, Sept. 28. Octoberfest is an annual event that invites the community to celebrate the season and gather with friends and family for a time of fun and relaxation in downtown Ludington. The weekend will include live music, craft beer, festival food, and plenty of family-friendly activities.

Kicking off the weekend festivities is a self-guided pub crawl through downtown Ludington that starts at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. Pub crawl participants can begin at Ludington Bay Brewing Company to grab a map and a commemorative can koozie. Participants will make their way along South James Street to Ludington Avenue for beverages at participating Ludington Outdoor Social District (LOSD) establishments, where you can take your drinks to go.

Participants will later bring their event passports back to Ludington Bay Brewing by 8:30 p.m. for prizes and live music by Zip City. Tickets are $10 on Eventbrite, or purchase tickets at Ludington Bay Brewing Co. starting at 5 p.m.

The Octoberfest Biergarten will be held Saturday, Sept. 28 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Legacy Plaza. It is sponsored by Bell’s Brewery and Ludington Bay Brewing Company and will feature yard games, live music, food and craft beer. Ticket holders who purchase tickets online by September 27 will be able to get inside the gate an hour early, beginning at 1 p.m.

The Virgil Baker Band will perform polka music from 1-3 p.m., and Working on Famous will headline the entertainment stage, performing from 4-6 p.m. Dancing will take place under the pavilion.

Food from Cluck Bucket and Lakeside Wiener Wagon will be available to festival-goers, as well as cornhole, Jenga, Yahtzee, and various family-friendly activities like balloon animals and pumpkin painting.

New this year, The Wood Butcher TQC of Scottville will hold wood carving demonstrations. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch as raw logs are transformed into works of art. Attendees will also have the chance to win a one-of-a-kind, custom-designed piece created exclusively for the event. The carving will be raffled off to one lucky winner.

Tickets for Octoberfest are available through online sales only. Admission is $5 and children under age 16 are free. An entry package, which includes entry and four drinks, is available for purchase for $29.
