The following is police activity in Mason County over the Labor Day weekend:

Friday, Aug. 30, 2024:

  • 8:30 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road west of Tuttle Road, Eden Township.
  • 3:02 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 26-year-old Custer man was arrested for domestic assault by strangulation, interfering with a 911 call and a bond violation following a call in the 600 block of  North Rowe Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 5:14 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway south of US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 6:41 p.m., (LPD), a 49-year-old Ludington man was arrested for a Friend of the Court warrant issued in Kent County, 600 block of East Melendy Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail 8:02 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of the Ludington rest area, Summit Township.

Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024:

  • 3:36 a.m., (MCSO), a 22-year-old Dayton, Ohio woman was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting an assault, 4900 block of West Deren Road, Summit Township.
  • 5:07 a.m., (LPD), a 33-year-old Scottville man was arrested for a warrant issued in Mason County, Legacy Plaza, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 3:14 p.m., (LPD), a 25-year-old Ludington woman was cited for driving on an expired license following a vehicle crash, Loomis Street and Stearns Outer Drive, City of Ludington.
  • 6:27 p.m., (MCSO),​ a 42-year-old Ludington woman was arrested for methamphetamine possession following a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle, 5100 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
  • Time not listed, (LPD), a 45-year-old homeless man was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued by LPD for a charge of third-offense domestic assault, Sherman and First streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail .

Monday, Sept. 2, 2024

  • 1:29 a.m., (LPD), an 18-year-old Ludington woman was arrested following a traffic stop for operating while intoxicated, assaulting/resisting/obstructing police and for a bond violation, Ludington Avenue and Jackson Road, City of Ludington. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 6:22 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Marrison Road east of Lorne Road, Riverton Township.
  • 8 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Victory Corners Road north of Hansen Road, Amber Township.
  • 2:03 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Quarterline Road south of Countyline Road, Grant Township.
  • 9:09 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Hamlin Township.
  • 10:08 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive north of Lincoln Road, City of Ludington.
  • 10:11 p.m., (MCSO), damaged property, 100 block of North Gordon Road, Amber Township. The complainant reported that a vehicle ran over a mail box.
  • 10:38 p.m., (LPD), a 35-year-old Ludington man was arrested following a traffic stop for driving without a license and for a Friend of the Court warrant issued in Lake County, Washington Avenue and Dowland Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
