LUDINGTON — Four organizations that are located within a city block of each other are hosting the Cultural Corners Street Party on Friday, Sept. 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The organizations include Mason County Historical Society, Sandcastles Children’s Museum, Mason County District Library and Ludington Area Center for the Arts. The street party will include entry into each facility along with exhibits in the 100 block of South Harrison Street, between Ludington Avenue and Loomis Street, which will be closed to traffic during the event.

“This is a great way for the public to see what each of our organizations has to offer,” said Rebecca Berringer, executive director of the Mason County Historical Society.

Attendees will receive a stamp at each location. Once they receive all the stamps they can get a free serving of ice cream compliments of House of Flavors. The event will feature live music from Beet Diggers, outdoor activities, crafts, balloon animals with John Marek, the West Shore Educational Service District Book Bus, along with free admission to the facilities.

“The goal of this family friendly community gathering is to promote our four downtown non-profit organizations and what we have to offer,” said Andrew Skinner, executive director of Ludington Area Center for the Arts.

The Mason County Historical Society Research Center and Emporium is located at 130 E. Ludington Ave., the southwest corner of East Ludington Avenue and South Harrison Street. Sandcastles Children’s Museum is located at 129 E. Ludington Ave., the northwest corner of East Ludington Avenue and North Harrison Street. The Ludington branch of the Mason County District Library is located at 217 E. Ludington Ave., the northwest corner of East Ludington Avenue and North Rowe Street. Ludington Area Center for the Arts is located at 107 S. Harrison St., the northeast corner of South Harrison Street and East Loomis Street.

Our event is a celebration of the four vibrant non profit organizations in downtown Ludington, located on the four corners of Ludington Avenue and Harrison Street,” said Kristin Korendyke, executive director of Sandcastles Children’s Museum. “We invite the public to come take a look at what these organizations have to offer and how they help make our community such a great place to live.”
