LUDINGTON — Beth Hand has won the Republican primary election for Mason County prosecuting attorney. As there will be no Democratic challenger for the position in the November General Election, Hand will be the elected prosecutor.

Hand defeated opponents Jordan Miller and Becky Lederer. Unofficial results were Hand, 2,633; Miller, 1,175 and Ledrer, 853.

Hand was appointed as prosecutor in May by 51st Circuit Court Judge Susan Sniegowski to replace Lauren Kreinbrink, who resigned her position.

“I am honored and humbled by the support I have received,” Hand said. “I would like to thank Mason County voters for their belief in me.  I will continue to give 110% and look forward to serving this great community.”

Both Miller and Lederer congratulated Hand and thanked their supporters.

“While I am obviously disappointed in the outcome, I am proud of the campaign I ran and the faith people placed in me,” Miller said. “I hope everyone will now join me in placing that same faith in our new Prosecutor, as her success is ultimately our success.”

“Thank you to all of my loyal supporters for all of the encouragement during this campaign,” Lederer said. “The texts and messages have been so encouraging to me and I am so appreciative of our whole community. Congratulations Beth.”
