Chamber, local media to host candidates’ forum

LUDINGTON — The Chamber Alliance of Mason County, along with local news media, will host a candidates’ forum on Thursday, July 11 at Waterfront Park, beginning at 7 p.m.

The event will include local and state candidates who are running in the Aug. 6 primary election.

The event is being co-hosted by chamber media members Mason County Press, Ludington Daily News and Synergy Media, Inc. (News FM 97.7 and 98.7). It will be moderated by Steve Begnoche, retired managing editor of Ludington Daily News. Members of the American Association of University Women will also be assisting.

During the forum, candidates in contested races will be asked a series of questions from the three member panel consisting of Lois Tomaszewski, executive editor the LDN, Rob Alway, editor-in-chief of MCP, and Steve Ruba of Synergy Media. Members of the public will have an opportunity to submit questions prior to and during the event. The event is not a debate.

The event will also be broadcasted live on FM 97.7 and 98.7.

In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts, 107 S. Harrison St.
