Marilyn was born on February 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Wesley S. and Grace H. (Gordon) Hawley. She was a graduate of Ludington High School. Later, she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Harding University, something she was very proud of. She was employed by the State of Michigan working as a draftsman. Marilyn was an artist and spent many years and time oil painting. She gave many of those away, gifting them to family and friends. Along with oil paintings, she would crochet hats for the newborns at Ludington hospital, as well as blankets that she would give away. She also enjoyed genealogy, doing extensive research on all sides of her family.

Marilyn is survived by her nephews, Dennis (Gayle) Kelly, and Terry (Gayle) Hazen; niece, Gloria Hazen; nieces-in-law, Barbara Kelly, and Beverly Kelly; and other great-nieces and great-nephews.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her first husband, John Symonds; second husband, Chester Schneider; third husband, George Johnson; parents; and siblings.

Arrangements were entrusted to Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington, www.OakGroveLudington.com.
