Intruder attempts to break into home in the middle of the night

FREE SOIL — A Free Soil resident reported to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office that an intruder attempted to break into a home located in the 8400 block of North West Street just after 2 a.m. Monday, June 10, said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The following is other Mason County Sheriff’s Office activity Monday, June 10, 2022:

  • 4:45 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Masten Road north of Lucek Road, Logan Township.
  • 8:04 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Sugar Grove Road, Victory Township.
  • 9:43 a.m., two-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injury, 3900 block of West US 10, Amber Township.
  • 2:11 p.m., deputies continue to investigate a retail fraud at Walmart where the suspect reportedly left the store before deputies arrived, Pere Marquette Township.
  • 3:45 p.m., two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Dennis Road, Amber Township.
  • 9:48 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Dennis Road south of Hansen Road, Amber Township.
  • 10:50 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Scottville Road north of Conrad Road, Custer Township.
