Chamber presents BRRRewfest funds to FLSP

May 31, 2024

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — Friends of Ludington State Park recently received $12,538.92 from the Chamber Alliance of Mason County following a successful Pure Ludington BRRRewfest in January 2024, the Chamber announced during a presentation Thursday morning at the park in front of items purchased this year through previous Brrrewfest donations.

The Friends group has long partnered with the Chamber, providing all of the volunteer labor in setting up for the event, ticket-taking, drink pouring, tearing down and more. In turn, the Chamber gives all proceeds from BRRRewfest back to the nonprofit organization.

In previous years, funding has gone toward the purchase of items that make Ludington State Park more accessible. These projects included all-terrain track chairs, playground equipment, and a kayak launch, to name a few.

This year FLSP purchased beach chairs for the Hamlin Lake Beach available to the public to use free of charge at the beach house patio.

“The Chamber Alliance is proud to partner with the Friends of Ludington State Park to bring the Pure Ludington BRRRewfest to our community each year,” Brandy Henderson Chamber president/CEO stated. “Founded with the goal of giving back to our community and enriching the experiences of both visitors and residents, this event underscores our dedication to supporting Ludington State Park, one of our region’s premier attractions. Our collaboration reinforces our commitment to investing in this valuable asset and enhancing its accessibility. We look forward to many more years of partnership, working together to make Ludington a welcoming and inclusive destination for all.”

“BRRRewfest is FLSP’s largest annual fundraiser and it only occurs because of our partnership with the Chamber Alliance and all the event volunteers,” Patrick O’Hare FLSP president stated. “Funding from the event contributes greatly to FLSP being able to complete many projects at the LSP including the recently installed SeeCoast Enchroma viewer on the Island trail, the new beach mobility chairs for use on the Hamlin Beach, and numerous other projects. In recent years FLSP has invested in making the LSP more accessible for all park users.”
