LUDINGTON — United Way of Mason County has announced the recipients of its 2024-2025 funding cycle grants
“The United Way of Mason County Community Investment Committee, through careful consideration, made the decision to fully fund all applications that we received this year,” said Lynne Russell, executive director. “Each application that we received was vetted by the committee and then recommended to the UWMC Board of Directors as a grant recipient. We are very proud to partner with these agencies to make a difference in Mason County for years to come and feel strongly that they will make a significant impact in our focus areas of Healthy Lifestyles, Financial Stability, and Youth Development.
The agencies and programs funded are as follows, separated by focus area:
Individuals and Families Living Healthy Lifestyles
- Hand 2 Hand Weekend Food Pack Program for Mason County Central Schools and Mason County Easter Schools: $5,000
- Ludington Senior Center Outreach and Assistance: $5,000
Individuals and Families Becoming Financial Stable
- TrueNorth Community Services Family Housing Support: $22,000
- Habitat for Humanity of Mason County Critical Home Repair: $20,000
- COVE (Communities Overcoming Violent Encounters) Shelter Services: $10,000
Children and Youth Achieving Their Potential
- Staircase Youth Services Outreach and Assistance: $18,500
- Community Foundation for Mason County KickStart to Career: $2,580
In addition, United Way of Mason County helps fund and manage Mason County Family Link in Ludington Area School District, Mason County Central School District, Gateway to Success Academy, and West Shore Community College. Funds also go to the UWMC managed Lakeshore Employer Resource Network of Mason County and the 2-1-1 helpline.
The funds awarded were raised from United Way of Mason County’s annual fundraising campaign.
