LUDINGTON — The travelling Vietnam Memorial Wall will be in Ludington next year. The Mason County Allied Veterans Council has asked Ludington City Council to approve the Americans Veterans Traveling Tribute to be displayed at City Park Aug. 27 through 31, 2014.
The primary memorial is a replica of the Vietnam wall that is in Washington, DC. It contains names of all of the soldiers who died serving the U.S. in the Vietnam War. It would be set up on West Court Street between North Gaylord Avenue and just east of North Lewis Street. Other walls would be temporarily erected throughout city park as tributes to veterans of other wars.
City Manager John Shay is recommending City Council approves the request during its regular meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m.
