LUDINGTON — Chuck Wagon Pizza, 971 N. Lakeshore Dr., is set to re-open on Thursday, April 18 under new owner, Dr. Andy Riemer. There will be a ribbon cutting at 6 p.m. that evening
Chuck Wagon has been a family-owned business for 40 years. Riemer purchased the restaurant earlier this year and crews have been making updates and repairs to the building and its equipment.
Riemer said he and the employees of Chuck Wagon are dedicated to honoring the business’s past owners, Tom Pawlek and Rick Chapman. “Rick was a beloved member of the community who served pizza with an untouchable style,” Riemer said. “Tom, who owned Papa’s Pizza previous to the Donovans, who sold the business to Rick, will be in attendance at the ribbon cutting. Tom reached out and provided history which included the Papa Wapa Sub, which will be added to the menu to further honor the pizza legacy.”
Chapman passed away unexpectedly in July 2020.
Updates were made to the interior including a full service bar. The bar and table tops were made from repurposed wood collected from the former Michael’s Bar and Grill in downtown (also owned by Riemer). That building was razed to make way for a new restaurant to be called AndyS.
Hours of operation of Chuck Wagon will be daily from 4 to 10 p.m.
