PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 51-year-old Ludington man was arrested for operating while under the influence of drugs after he reportedly struck a vehicle from behind, two times, before driving off on Jebavy Drive near Johnson Road Sunday, April 14, shortly before 1 p.m., according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
No one was injured. The man was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Friday, April 12, 2024:
- 10:34 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), illegal dumping, 2800 block of North Lakeshore Drive, Hamlin Township. The complainant reported that someone dumped trash illegally in a private dumpster.
- 12:15 p.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 35-year-old homeless Ludington man was cited for public intoxication following a disturbance call, 400 block of South James Street, City of Ludington.
- 3:03 p.m., (MCSO), larceny, 7100 block of East Martin Road, Branch Township. The complainant reported medicine was stolen from a mailbox.
- 4:03 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and Meyers Road, Amber Township.
- 6:31 p.m., (MCSO), larceny, Meijer, West US 10, Amber Township. The complainant reported a theft of items, and the suspect left before patrol arrived.
Saturday, April 13, 2024:
- 2:41 p.m., (MCSO), larceny of a 150-foot bale of chicken wire, Hawley and Scottville roads, Custer Township.
- 3:56 p.m., (LPD), a 37-year-old Scottville man was arrested for operating while intoxicated following a traffic stop, Lakeshore Drive and Cartier Park, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County jail.
- 6:40 p.m., (MCSO), a warrant is being requested for a 32-year-old Fountain woman for driving while license revoked following a traffic stop, Sherman and Tallman Lake roads, Sheridan Township.
- 10:02 p.m., (LPD), a 39-year-old homeless Ludington woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued in Oceana County for failure to appear on an aggravated assault charge, City of Ludington. She was turned over to the Michigan State Police to be lodged at the Oceana County Jail.
- 10:10 p.m., (Michigan State Police), a 39-year-old Scottville woman was arrested on a failure to appear warrant, Staffon Street and Ludington Avenue, City of Ludington. She was transported to the Oceana County Jail in Hart where she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was also charged with methamphetamine possession.
- 10:57 p.m., (LPD), a 50-year-old Ludington man was arrested for domestic assault, 700 block of North Gaylord Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County jail.
Sunday, April 14, 2024:
- 12:13 a.m., (LPD), a 24-year-old Ludington man was arrested for public intoxication following a call of a possible breaking and entering in progress, 500 block of North Delia Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County jail.
- 2:37 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.
- 6:52 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, minor injury, Angling Road south of Fountain Road, Victory Township. A 26-year-old Ludington woman received minor injuries after she reportedly swerved to miss a deer; ran off the road; and struck a tree.
- 12:23 p.m., (MCSO), a 42-year-old Fountain woman was arrested on an outstanding probation violation warrant issued by Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court, 6400 block of Marshall Road, Branch Township.
- 8:34 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road east of Morse Road, Sheridan Township.
- 9:43 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Custer Road south of Freeman Road, Free Soil Township.
