CSC case for man facing 25-year mandatory minimum heads to trial

LUDINGTON — A 27-year-old man facing multiple criminal sexual conduct (CSC) charges in three separate criminal cases is scheduled for a jury trial April 17-19.

Bradley Curtis Drake faces a 25-year mandatory minimum prison term for first-degree CSC — victim under age 13. The maximum term for a first-degree CSC conviction is life in prison.

Drake, who is lodged in the Mason County Jail without bond, appeared in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, Jan. 30, for a final trial conference. His attorney Tracie Dinehart said there is currently no plea offer on the table.

According to court records, Drake faces charges of unlawful imprisonment, using computers to commit a crime, possession of child sexually abusive material, interfering with electronic communications and domestic violence arising from a Nov. 26, 2022 incident. Drake is charged with first-degree CSC, using a computer to commit a crime and child sexually abusive activity in a second file stemming from a Jan. 1, 2022 incident and another count of first-degree CSC arising out of a Jan. 1, 2021 incident.

“The court will not entertain any plea agreements on this file by the end of the week,” said Judge Susan K. Sniegowski.
