Scottville to celebrate Summerfest

SCOTTVILLE — The annual Scottville Summerfest takes place this weekend. The event, organized by the Scottville Main Street program, is part of the Ludington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Harbor Festival.

Summerfest begins Friday with a car cruise, which leaves Mason County Central High School parking lot at 6 p.m., returning to the Scottville Clown Band Shell around 7 p.m.

A classic car show will be featured on Main Street Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The weekend ends on Sunday with the famous Scottville Chicken Barbecue from noon to 2 p.m. at the Western Michigan Old Engine Club grounds at Riverside Park. The rubber ducky race follows at 3 p.m.

Schedule:

FRIDAY Sunset Cruise

• 5 p.m. registration at the Mason County Central School parking lot

• 6 p.m. cruise leaves MCC 7 p.m. music begins and cruise returns to the Scottville Clown Band Shell

• $5 to register, every registered vehicle receives two slices of pizza and two ice cream novelties SATURDAY Car Show

• 8 a.m. registration on Main Street

• 9 a.m. cruise begins

• 2 p.m. cruise ends

•$10 to register, first 100 registered vehicles receive dash plaques and prize bags, drawings will take place throughout the day SUNDAY Chicken BBQ

• Noon-2 p.m.

at the Western Michigan Old Engine Club

• $9 for chicken dinner

• $4 for children’s hot dog dinner Rubber Ducky Race

• 3 p.m. at Riverside Park

• $5 per quack, prizes given to first through 10th duck to finish the race and even the last duck receives a prize
