Caritas Pantry distributes 150 meals
CUSTER — On Tuesday, December 19, Caritas Food Pantry distributed 150 Christmas Meals to community members in need this holiday season. Meals were packed on Sunday, Dec. 17, by several volunteers including the youth of St. Mary’s Church.
Clients visiting Caritas Food Pantry during the month of November were able to register for a Christmas meal. Those who signed up for a meal were able to pick up all the fixings for a complete meal on Tuesday just in time for Christmas.
The following organizations and individuals helped to make the meals possible:
- John Ordus, executive vice president and chief stores officer of Tractor Supply Co. donated 150 five gallon buckets to hold each meal.
- Ludington Meijer contributed to the meals through its Simply Give Program.
- The Ludington Area Jaycees’ Mini Golf Course donated $1,500 towards the purchase of food through their grant program.
