Obituary: Ricky Rolston, 71, of Fountain

Rick Rolston, 71, of Fountain, formerly of Big Rapids, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Rick was born July 17, 1952, the son of Vern and Lois Carnes Rolston.

Rick graduated from Big Rapids High School in 1970. On April 28, 1973, he married the love of his life, Sharon Kurtz Rolston. Retiring in 2019, Rick spent over 25 years as a sign technician for the Mason County Road Commission.

Rick was an avid animal lover who enjoyed racing, fishing on any water for any fish at any time in any weather, especially walleye, camping with his family, boating with his granddaughters, and adventures.

Rick loved spending time with his family including his wife of 50-plus years, Sharon, daughter Stacey, daughter Jessica Schulz and husband Jason, granddaughter/daughter Lily Heitz (Dylan Petersen), granddaughters Aven and Aubryn.

Rick was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracey; father Vern; mother-in-law and father-in-law Eva and Walter; and brothers Danny, Sam, and Timmy.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to any animal shelter or charity of your choice.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday December 18, 2023, from 10 a.m. to noon at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington.
