Deputies handle multiple injury crashes, warrant arrests over the weekend

MASON COUNTY — Mason County sheriff’s deputies responded to numerous vehicle crashes and made several warrant arrests over the weekend.

The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Friday, Dec. 1, 2023:

• 1:52 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), ​a 33-year-old Scottville man was arrested for methamphetamine possession and on a failure to warrant issued in Mason County for a charge of amphetamine possession following a traffic stop, Ludington and Washington avenues, City of Ludington.
• ​1:59 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 40-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding child support warrant issued in Kent County, Washington Avenue and Danaher​ Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 5:37 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Scottville Road north of Wilson Road, Custer Township.
• 6:59 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road west of Custer Road, Sherman Township.
• 7:26 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Fountain Road west of LaSalle Road, Victory Township.
• 11:37 a.m., (MCSO), an 85-year-old Ludington woman received minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash, US 10 east of Pere Marquette Highway, Pere Marquette Township.
• 2:03 p.m., (MCSO), two -vehicle crash, no injury, Custer and Sugar Grove roads, Sherman Township.
• 3:40 p.m. (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 and Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
• 5:33 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Koenig Road, Free Soil Township.
• 5:53 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road east of Reek Road, Sherman Township.
• 7:28 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, 5000 block of West US 10, Pere Marquette Township.
• 8:54 p.m., (MCSO), a 38-year-old Baldwin woman, who was the driver, and a 32-year-old Baldwin woman, who was a passenger, both received minor injuries following a one-vehicle rollover crash, Meisenheimer Road east of Deren Road, Summit Township.
• 8:56 p.m.,(MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Sugar Grove Road west of Custer Road, Sherman Township.
• 10:16 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.

Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023:

• 11:31 a.m., (MCSO), ​a 58-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for operating under the influence of drug following a traffic stop, Jebavy Drive near Jagger Road, Hamlin Township.
• 3:04 p.m., (MCSO), a 68-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant on a charge of fraud by LPD, 5700 block of West US 10, Summit Township.
• 5:50 p.m., (MCSO), vehicle/tree hit-and-run crash, no injury, Walhalla and Kinney roads, Logan Township.
• 6:21 p.m., (MCSO), a 79-year-old Branch woman and 24-year-old Bourbannais, Illinois man were both injured and following a two-vehicle crash, US 10 and Brye Road, Amber Township.
• 7:43 p.m., (MCSO), a 22-year-old Baldwin man was arrested on an outstanding felony assault warrant issued in Lake County following a traffic stop, Meijer parking lot, 3900 block of West US 10, Amber Township.
• 10:55 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.

Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023:

• Midnight, (MCSO), a 47-year-old Ludington man was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant for a traffic offense following a 911 call reporting an assault, Wildwood Crossing, Amber Township.
• ​1:17 a.m., (LPD), ​a 48-year-old Ludington man was arrested for disorderly conduct, James and Filer​ streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 7:10 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Beyer Road west of Custer Road, Sherman Township.
• 10:47 a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Meisenheimer Road west of Pere Marquette Highway, Summit Township.
• 11:11a.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Quarterline and Treml roads, Grant Township.
• 4:21 p.m., (MCSO), a 30-year-old Scottville woman received non-life-threatening injuries after the vehicle she was operating left the roadway and struck a tree, Kinney Road near Masten Road, Logan Township.
• 11:02 p.m., (MCSO), a 38-year-old Walkerville man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County failure to appear warrant for child support, Pere Marquette Highway and Oceana Drive, Summit Township.
