Filer Credit Union employees donate to Area 24 Special Olympics
FILER TOWNSHIP, Manistee County — Filer Credit Union recently donated $2,000 to Area 24 Special Olympics, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing sports opportunities and promoting inclusion for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Manistee, Mason, and Lake counties.
Through a coordinated effort, Filer Credit Union’s call center team members rallied together and dedicated their time to volunteer while providing coverage support to each other at work. In addition to their volunteer contributions, the call center team raised $1,000.
“This donation reflects Filer Credit Union’s commitment to supporting the local community and creating opportunities for individuals to thrive,” said Kyle Gurzynski, CEO of Filer Credit Union.
Filer Credit Union decided to match the funds raised by the employees, resulting in a total donation of $2,000 being presented to Area 24 Special Olympics.
“This contribution will go towards supporting sports training, competitions, and other related programs that provide individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to develop physical fitness, build self-confidence, and experience the joy of participating in sports,” Gurzynski said.
“At Filer we are passionate about local organizations that change people’s lives. Area 24 Special Olympics impacts these individuals lives through athletics and gives these athletes an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than themselves. These athletes remind us winning isn’t everything, but it’s more about the memories made within our team.
“Filer Credit Union remains dedicated to supporting local organizations and initiatives that promote community growth and wellness and will continue to seek opportunities to create a positive impact and uplift the communities we serve,” Gurzynski said.
