United Way to hold tree decorating competition

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — United Way of Mason County will hold a Festival of Trees fundraising competition this holiday season. The organization is inviting businesses, organizations and schools to participate.

The tree decorating period is from Thursday, November 30 to Friday, December 1. Each participating group will be responsible for decorating its own tree during that time. The trees will be housed at Stix Bar Biergarten during the voting and for the event.

The public will vote on the trees at Stix Biergarten. The top three trees will be auctioned off. The remaining trees will be given to local Shop with a Cop/Shop with a Hero families with the the lights and decorations.
