Sugar Ridge Church to hold Blessing of the Hunt

CUSTER TOWNSHIP — Sugar Ridge Church, 2012 E. Wilson Road, will hold its annual Blessing of the Hunt event on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

The annual event is an outreach to the community by the Sugar Ridge Church congregation providing a meal, speaker, and a drawing for some door prizes.

This year’s speaker will be State Rep. Curt VanderWall (R-Ludington). VanderWall has served previous terms in the state legislature as representative and senator and locally as chairman of the Mason County Board of Commissioners. He has also served on the Western Michigan Fair Association board, district chairman of Michigan State University Extension, and currently chair of the Women’s Jericho House board of directors.

VanderWall is the owner of Turf Care Mole Man of Ludington. He and his wife Diane are involved with Covenant Christian School and attend Mason County Reformed Church, where VanderWall has served as a deacon.
