Obituary: Curtis Feister, 71, of Custer
Curtis John Feister, 71, of Custer, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023.
Curt was born on May 3, 1952, in Hart, the son of the late Ivan and Jane (Segelstrom) Feister. In 1970 he graduated from Mason County Eastern High School. On August 19, 1978, Curt married Laurene (MacArthur), and together they shared 45 years together with their seven children.
Curt spent his entire life farming, starting as a child and continued by taking over the family farm. Curt and his wife, Laurene, operated their farm, providing for their seven children. He was also active in his community, serving on the board of review for Eden Township. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, auctions, and yard sales. He was a proud lifetime member of Whitetails Unlimited. He attended many of its banquets. On Saturday nights he would gather with family and friends in the pole barn playing setback. Curt will be greatly missed by all, but especially his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Curt is survived by his wife, Laurene Feister; children, Marcie (Dan) Olson, Missy Feister, Greg (Milyn) Feister, Josh Feister, Angela Beadle (Quentin), Becky (Todd) VanNortwick, Johnathon (Connie) Feister; grandchildren, Bailey, Jake, Alexandra (Omar), Courtney, Brett, Darin, Hayden, Zaden, Caspyn, Chelsea (Victor), Sydney, Rylee, Trenton, and Andie; great-grandchildren, Anaiya, Ariah, and Everly; siblings, Larry Feister and Carolyn (Tim) Courtemanche; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts; along with many other family members and friends.
Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Jane Feister; brother, Gary Feister; nephew, Billy Feister; and niece, Kelly Vlahos.
A visitation for Curt will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Walkerville Wesleyan Church, 144 176th Ave., Walkerville.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m. at Walkerville Wesleyan Church. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. at the church.
