Youth Advisory Council approves education grants
LUDINGTON — The Youth Advisory Council of the Community Foundation for Mason County recently approved 10 Teacher Mini-Grant Awards to educators and counselors across Mason County. A total of $3,500 was awarded from the Youth Advisory Council Fund through the competitive application process.Highlights of the grants awarded include:
- Covenant Christian School: $497 to purchase electronic scanners to support independent reading.
- Mason County Central’s Victory Early Childhood Center: $500 to support the completion of a Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential for two staff members.
- Ludington Area Schools: $795 to provide funding for professional development, a classroom project, and art supplies.
- Mason County Central Schools: $1,008 to purchase
technology equipment, high-interest literature, and recorders for fourth and fifth grade students. - Ludington Area Catholic School: $200 to purchase tools to help preschool and kindergarten students regulate their emotions.
- West Shore ESD: $500 to provide flexible seating for students.
