Ludington State Park fall celebration scheduled for Saturday

HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — Friends of the Ludington State Park will host a fall celebration on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the state park.

The event, centered at the Lake Michigan beach house, will include wagon rides, Celtic music, refreshments, interpretive displays and a beach campfire.

Selkie, a Celtic music trio that wowed those who attended its summer series concert at the park, returns to provide music in the beach house for the day.

Hands-on nature displays will be on exhibit to look at while enjoying apple juice cider and doughnut holes, while supplies last.

Wagon rides featuring draft horses from Meadow Breeze Farms also will be provided.

“Friends of Ludington State Park and Ludington State Park are pleased to once again be hosting fall festival activities as yet another opportunity to come out and enjoy all that Ludington State Park has to offer,” Patrick O’Hare, FLSP president said.

The event is free. Donations will be accepted to help FLSP offset costs. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required of vehicles entering the park.
