Cocaine possession, warrant arrest tops police activity

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 19-year-old Branch man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies for cocaine possession and on two outstanding Manistee County warrants for aggravated assault and failure to appear Tuesday, Sept. 26, shortly after 11 p.m. in the 5100 block of West US 10, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The suspect was arrested following a call of a reported personal protection order violation at that location allegedly committed by another individual.

The following is other activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023:

• 7:20 a.m., ​a 36-year-old Scottville man was arrested for domestic violence following a 911 call reporting an assault, 3800 block of South Darr Road, Eden Township.
• 8:10 a.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Tuttle Road south of Sugar Grove Road, Sherman Township.
• 3:42 p.m., two-vehicle rear-end crash, no injury, Benson Road north of Hansen Road, Branch Township.

No activity was reported by the Ludington Police Department or the Scottville Police Department for Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2023.
