MCC gifted 100 backpacks

SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central Schools recently received 100 backpacks to assist elementary students in the upcoming school year. The backpacks were donated by AT&T through the offices of State Sen. Jon Bumstead and State Rep. Curt VanderWall. Both legislators came to MCC to present the backpacks Wednesday. Also present were MCC Upper Elementary Principal Kevin Kimes, Scottville Elementary Principal Chris Etchison, Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole, Dep. Luke Postema, MCC school resource officer, Dep. Adam Claveau, Sgt. Adam Lamb and Tim Westrate, director of external and legislative affairs for AT&T.
