Woman wanted on warrant visits inmate at jail, gets arrested

LUDINGTON — A 48 year-old Ludington woman was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies Saturday, Aug. 19, shortly before 10 a.m. after she had come in to visit an inmate at the Mason County Jail, “and it was learned she was wanted out of Norton Shores Police Department on a failure to appear warrant for retail fraud,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Friday, Aug. 18, 2023:

• 6 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Chauvez Road west of Stiles Road, Riverton Township
• 4:13 p.m., (Michigan State Police), two-vehicle crash causing injuries, Pere Marquette Highway near Birch Lane, Summit Township. A 43-year-old Ludington man is under suspicion of third-offense operating while intoxicated.
• 6:30 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle hit-and-run crash, no injury, Iris Road west of Inman Road, Pere Marquette Township. The complainant’s vehicle was struck by a maroon passenger car that had reportedly crossed the centerline, sideswiping the caller’s vehicle. The maroon vehicle fled the scene.
• 9:35 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road south of Fisher Road, Victory Township.

Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023:

• 1:18 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Dewey Road, Hamlin Township.
• 4:40 p.m., (MCSO), three-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township.
• 7:20 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township.
• 10:38 p.m., (MCSO), retail fraud, Wesco, 100 block of North Main Street, City of Scottville. The complainant reported an unknown male had allegedly stolen liquor from the store.

Sunday, Aug. 20, 2023:

• 1:41 a.m., (MCSO), a 48-year-old Manistee man was cited for driving while license revoked following a traffic stop​, US 31 and Dewey Road, Sherman Township.
• 6:50 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Custer Road north of Decker Road, Sherman Township.
