Obituary: Jack Willoughby, 28, of Ludington
Jack Daniel Willoughby, 28, of Ludington, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. He was born February 18, 1995, in Ludington.
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Denyse Willoughby and his paternal grandparents, Frank Willoughby, Betty Tripp, Dennis and Marsha Shurlow.
Jack is survived by his brother Zachary Shurlow; father William J. Willoughby of Ludington; uncles Ricky (Mary) Willoughby of Manistee, Richard Willoughby (Vickie Sanders) of Fountain, Daniel Willoughby of Rising Sun, Indiana, Frank (Barb) Willoughby of Fountain; and aunts Michele Stickney of Free Soil, LaJuana Willoughby of Ludington, and Judy (John) Essig of Fountain.
Jack had a special relationship with many cousins including Rikki, and Bella Willoughby of Manistee, Tracy Scarborough of Cadillac, Desiree Overdorf of Ludington, RaeLynn Klinger of Ludington, and Lauren Christensen of Manistee. He was close to the Haner and Appledorn families of Ludington, Marte Genia and Holly and Mark Meese of Ludington and is survived by numerous cousins and friends.
Jack attended Ludington High School and was employed by Blue Moon and Pizza Hut of Ludington. Although his congenital heart disease prohibited him from many activities, Jack found joy in golf, disc golf, fishing and spending time with friends and family. Jack’s family would like to thank everyone who assisted in his care, special thanks to Rose of Spectrum Health Visiting Nurse Association of Ludington and Hospice of Michigan.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Oak Grove Funeral Home of Ludington. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 5th at Maple Grove Cemetery in Free Soil Township with Rev. Rick Roberts officiating.
