Amber Township resident supports MCC school bond

Dear Editor,
As a resident of Mason County, I am writing to express my support for the upcoming bond that will benefit our students and our community for generations to come. Much needed safety upgrades, necessary building updates, and greater educational/cultural opportunities with the addition of a performing arts center will cement MCC as a competitive leader in our county and state.
My passion comes from the pride I feel as a Scottville resident as well as my ties to Mason County. My grandmother graduated from the old school house, two of my relatives have served on MCC’s school board, my cousins have passed through my classroom, and now my kids are proud Spartans.
Generations before us had a stake in our future, and now it is our turn to do the same. Your vote on May 2nd will not just benefit current and future students, but will be an investment in our community as well. It is my hope that many of our skilled student workforce will return to this area to raise Spartans of their own, helping to attract more businesses to our town.
It is my hope that we can look beyond our taxable value to realize that our most important asset is our children.
Sincerely,
Jon Hackey
