Ludington man sentenced to up to 20 years on meth charges.
LUDINGTON — A 45-year-old Ludington man was sentenced earlier this week to serve up to 20 years in prison for selling/manufacturing methamphetamine. Franklin Eugene Chaple, whose last known address was 110 N. Washington Ave., was arrested by SSCENT (State, Sheriff’s, Chief’s Enforcement of Narcotics Team) in January of 2022 and charged with delivery/manufacturing of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotics, and possession of analogues.
On Tuesday, July 12, 2022, 51st Circuit Court Judge Susan Sniegowski sentenced Chaple to serve seven to 20 years in prison on the possession of methamphetamine charge, nine to 20 years on the manufacturing/delivery charge and 17 months to four years for the possession of narcotics charge. The possession of analogues charge was dismissed in a plea agreement. Chaple was given credit for serving 191 days in jail; the sentences run concurrent.
