79^th District Court news, posted July 26, 2021

LUDINGTON — The following were recently arraigned in Mason County’s 79^th District Court:

Felonies

Bozeman

-Ashley Renee Bozeman, 30, of 3404 N. 140^th Ave., Hart, was arrested July 6 by the Ludington Police Department (LDP) on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine/ecstasy) and possession of a controlled substance (narcotic/cocaine). Probable cause hearing: July 28 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $2,500 personal recognizance. 

Prutch

-Laura Lynne Prutch, 59, of 3307 S. Schwass Rd., Riverton Township, was arrested July 14 by Michigan State Police (MSP) on two felony counts of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Probable cause hearing: July 28 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $500 cash.

Misdemeanors

-Tammy Louise Tanis, 55, of 731 N. Rowe St., Ludington; July 19; LPD; operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI). Pretrial: Aug. 23 at 11:15 a.m. Bail: $250 cash.

Sentencings

-Amber Lynn Barnaby, 40, of 3073 S. Pere Marquette Hwy., Pere Marquette Township, pleaded guilty July 20 to operating a vehicle while impaired by liquor (OUIL) and was sentenced to five days in jail with credit for five days served; must attend victim’s impact panel; must continue counseling program; and $870 in fines/costs. May perform 87 hours of community service in lieu of paying fines/costs. Conviction is reportable to Secretary of State (SOS).

-Jason Matthew Fox, 46, of 613 N. Rowe St., Ludington, was found guilty by the court on July 13 of domestic violence and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no contact with the victim; must have an anger management evaluation; and $435 in fines/costs.

-Danyel Rebecca Horsley, 33, of 308 N. Rowe St., Apt. 4, Ludington, pleaded guilty July 15 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days in jail with credit for 93 days served. A charge of disturbing the peace was dismissed.

-Patrick Lee Lessard, 48, of 713 N. Rowe St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 15 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for two days served; 93 days discretionary jail for one year; no drugs/alcohol; must continue current substance abuse treatment; and $595 in fines/costs. May perform 60 hours of community service in lieu of paying fines/costs.

-Eddie Keith Rogers, 65, of 722 E. Danaher St., Ludington, pleaded no contest July 13 to assault and battery and was sentenced to 31 days in jail with credit for 31 days served; no contact with the victim; no drugs/alcohol and subject to random PBTs. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed.

-Donald Thomas Miller, 33, of 507 E. Melendy St., Ludington, pleaded guilty July 15 to driving while license suspended and was sentenced to 39 days in jail with credit for 39 days served. 

-Joshua Aaron Carpenter, 42, of 105 Emerson Lake Dr., Branch, pleaded guilty July 20 to third degree retail fraud and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $746 in fines/costs/restitution. A charge of assault and battery was dismissed.

Dismissals

-Daniel Wayne Mortensen, 42, of 5862 W. Johnson Rd., Pere Marquette Township, had a charge of carrying a concealed weapon dismissed on July 20.

-Jack Daniel Willoughby, 26, of 618 ½ E. Melendy St., Ludington, had a charge of driving while license suspended dismissed on July on July 21.
