Portion of PM Highway to close for bridge construction.

PERE MARQUETTE — The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced that it will begin construction of the bridge on Pere Marquette Highway over the railroad tracks beginning March 1, resulting in the bridge being closed until about July 6.

The $1.3 million project will see replacement of the bridge deck, painting, approach work, new concrete curb and gutter, new guardrail and pavement markings.

Traffic will be detoured during the project with US 10 to US 31 expressway being the official detour.
