LUDINGTON — The following proceedings took place this week in 79th District Court.
Sentences
– Matthew Joseph Stock, 21, 602 E. Melendy St., Ludington, was found guilty on March 19 for driving while license suspended/revoked/denied. He was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year, 12 months probation and a $285 fine/costs. He was also found guilty of failure to display a valid license. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year, probation and $275 in fines/costs.
– Robert Anthony-Wolever Newcom, 32, 6676 Wever Rd., Walhalla, was found guilty on March 19 for receiving and concealing stolen property. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for two years and $580 fines/costs.
– Marc Anthony Buckland, 31, 143 N. Jebavy Dr., Apt. 5, Pere Marquette Twp., was found guilty on March 19 for driving while license suspended/revoked/denied. He was sentenced to one year discretionary jail for two days, plus two years, 24 months probation, $580 fines/costs.
– Davi Lynn McFadden, 22, 58 S. Madison Ave., Custer, was found guilty on March 21 for being a vehicle passenger with an open intoxicant. He was ordered to pay $265 in fines/costs.
– Andrew Brook Shaffer, 20, 1040 Daisey Lane, Apt. 233, Ludington, was found guilty on March 19 for failure to display a valid license. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year. He was also found guilty of driving while license suspended/revoked/denied and sentenced to 24 months probation and one year discretionary jail for two years. A charge of failure to maintain security was dismissed.
– Seth Adam Bretschneider, 32, 7219 N. Macksam Rd., Hart, was found guilty on March 19 for violating the charitable solicitation act. He was sentenced to 180 days discretionary jail for one year, must complete economic crime program, cannot participate in any solicitation for any charitable organization unless properly accredited to do so.
– Kayla Ann-Marie Jowers, 20, 1073 N. Dennis Rd., Ludington, was found guilty on March 19 for driving while license suspended/revoked/denied. He was sentenced to one day in jail, one year discretionary jail for two years, can perform 58 hours of community service within 90 days to receive credit for fines/costs of $580.
– Heather Alexis Topping, 41, 508 E. Danaher St., Apt. 2, Ludington, was found guilty on March 19 for retail fraud third degree. She was sentenced to 93 days discretionary jail for one year, must complete economic crime program, must continue counseling efforts with Community Mental Health, must pay $128 fines/costs.
– Robin Depree-Owen, 40, 7065 N. Dennis Rd., Victory Twp., was found guilty on March 20 for controlled substance possession of marijuana and driving while license suspended/revoked/denied. Sentence: Two days in jail for each count, one year discretionary jail for two years for each count, must not smoke nicotine, must have a substance abuse evaluation, must not have/buy/use alcohol/illicit drugs, must receive outpatient treatment.
– Chad Alan Wilkinson, 35, 13084 N. Wood Bridge, Bitely, Fla., was found guilty on March 18 for retail fraud third degree. He was sentenced to 80 days jail with credit for time served, $797.47 in fines/costs/restitution.
– Christopher Ryan Hansen, 21, 194 Monroe St., Manistee, was found guilty on March 18 of driver transporting an open intoxicant. He was sentenced to 90 days discretionary jail for one year, 12 months probation, $265 fines/costs.
Dismissals
