LUDINGTON — Ludington Police Chief Mark Barnett said there is no truth to a rumor that the body of Katherine “Baby Kate” Phillips has been located.

A posting was made on the “Stroller Mom” Facebook page. The page is apparently dedicated to finding Baby Kate but is more about conspiracies about Kate’s mother, Ariel Courtland and the baby’s father, Sean Phillips.

Phillips was found guilty of unlawfully imprisonment last April. He is serving a prison sentence for the 2011 disappearance of his infant daughter.

Barnett said there have been no new developments in the case but detectives from Ludington Police Department and Mason County Sheriff’s Department are still on the case. In the fall a letter, apparently written by Phillips, was distributed basically confessing to killing the baby. However, it fell short of stating where the baby’s body may be.

Reporter Lisa Enos attempted to contact the person who stated she had information on the new developments. There was a reference to that person by the administrator of the Facebook page. The person declined to comment.
